This book is such a great collection of short stories, poems, essays and more that inpired me to look through my background and ancestors. It also made me understand how beautiful is to share different cultures with others and talk about it so proudly and to be sure that our culture is the one that makes us to be different. I like this book so much. I highly recommend it to all people that want to know about Hispanic culture and need to share their own culture, this book will give you a clue on how to do it.

this book is a compilation of short stories and poems written by young latino females. some of the stories are true, others are woven from their imagination. their honesty and true feelings about growing up in this sect of american culture shines through in the beautiful - and sometimes painful - stories. while perusing the pages, one will forget that these are written by females so young, for the maturity contained within is amazing.
