I bought both this book and BRS Cell Biology and Histology for review and used them mainly as a source for practice questions. I found that the questions in this book is much better and more challenging than those in the BRS book.

Of Standards

The decision to buy this book is one of the most apt I have ever made in the medical school. Paulsen gives the rather abstract histology a vivid approach, that engulfs just what is required. However , illustrations are lacking and because of its compactness, no sentence is to be ignored. Consequently , progress is not very significant and thus inappropriate to rush through the day before the exam.
