HISTORY OF AMBAZONIA is a comprehensive and contextual account of the history of the Ambazonian people in West Africa at the Gulf of Guinea around the Bight of Biafra. It is an essential read for anyone who wishes to fully understand the causes, manifestations, evolution and current situation of the ongoing Ambazonian Liberation Resistance in Central Africa, which is also referred to as the Anglophone Crisis or Cameroon Anglophone Problem. This in-depth historical study opens with an introduction that highlights key issues and important facts about the people of the Former British Southern Cameroons who constitute Ambazonia. The second chapter consists of 5 sub-chapters that focus on the discovery of Ambazonia by Hanno the Navigator during his expedition to the Gulf of Guinea in about 500 BC: a momentous event that has surviving copies of its account with other related events such as his circumnavigation of Africa and the expedition of his brother, Himilco, to northwestern Europe. The third chapter is comprised of 2 sub-chapters on the political, social, religious and economic realities of Ambazonia before the arrival of the English Baptist missionaries in the 19th Century. The fourth chapter has 7 sub-chapters that tackle the arrival of the English Baptist missionaries in Ambazonia, the establishment of the Ambas Bay Colony by Alfred Saker, the establishment of the Expanded British Ambas Bay Protectorate after the annexation of the Ambas Bay Colony by Britain, and the eventual cession of the Expanded Ambas Bay Protectorate by Britain to Germany that added it as part of its German Kamerun Colony. The fifth chapter consists of 11 sub-chapters that take on the German Colonial administration's penetration into the Ambazonian hinterland, Ambazonian resistances to German penetration and rule, and the consolidation of German rule all over Ambazonia. The sixth chapter comprises 6 sub-chapters that dwell on German rule over Ambazonia as part of its German Kamerun Colony that comprised territorial areas currently consisting of the whole of the Republic of Ambazonia, the whole of La Republique du Cameroun, and parts of such states as Nigeria, Chad, Congo Brazzaville, Central African Republic and Equitorial Guinea. The seventh chapter is divided into 8 sub-chapters, and elaborates on the physical and legal origins of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia, the First World War and its aftermath in Ambazonia, and Ambazonia before the establishment of the British League of Nations Mandate. The eighth chapter consists of 7 sub-chapters on Ambazonia during the British League of Nations Mandate right up to the Second World War, the resolution of the League of Nations Mandate system, the birth of the United Nations, and establishment of the United Nations Trusteeship system. The ninth chapter expands on Ambazonia during the British Trusteeship administration, and is divided into 3 sub-chapters with the third divided into 30 parts that dwell on the political, economic, social and constitutional events in Ambazonia during this period including the granting of its independence by the United Nations, and its subsequent illegal annexation by the Republic of Cameroon. The tenth chapter consists of 4 sub-chapters and 20 more sub-units, which deal with Ambazonia under the forceful occupation of the Republic of Cameroon from 1961 to September 2017. The final chapter takes on the massive September 22, 2017 peaceful protests by millions of Ambazonians at home and across the world in the run-up to the international declaration of the restoration of their independence as the Republic of Ambazonia on October 1, 2017 under the leadership of Interim President Julius Ayuk-Tabe Sissekou, and developments thereafter including the gross human rights abuses and massacres against Ambazonian civilians, and wanton destruction of their homes and other properties, which necessitated self defense hence the armed conflict for Ambazonian Liberation. Best Wishes to you.
