A young cyclist is hit head-on, in a brutal road traffic accident. The negligent driver is the wife of a foreign diplomat; the victim's uncle, an experienced soldier turned government operative. A whirlwind of events follow as the press chase the story, the police race to build their case and, as the boy dies from his injuries, the diplomats claim immunity in order to run from consequences. The boy's family struggle to cope with the turbulent emotions, the complex international legalities, and even how to grieve while the incident which took their beloved son remains unresolved. As governments debate extradition, the family's faith in some kind of societal justice remains steadfast. But as the last glimmers of hope fade, and that justice finally slips from reach, the emotionally exhausted family spiral into a dark cycle of pain and hopelessness. Finally the boy's uncle accepts that their only hope of anything resembling justice, falls on him, and resolves to misemploy the skills he's been given by his government -for the sake of his family. No matter the cost to self, or country.
