The sports pages trumpet the exploits of the superstar players of the New York Flyers basketball team -- while the gossip columns hint of their infidelities and steamy off-court activities. And in the... This description may be from another edition of this product.
At first, the subject matter didn't really strike me (I'm not very fond of basketball), but once I got into it, I could not put it down! Every female in the word can relate to how the characters feel, and every man could learn how to treat a woman! I felt for the characters so much, and knew exactly what they were going through, I actually cried for them. Full of devastating suprises, this book was very exciting. I am glad I read it because I had a lot of, and learned a lot about relationships.

I enjoyed reading this book immensely. I have a radio book club and we're reviewing this book for this month. After I announced that Homecourt Advantage was our book of the month, a young lady who had already read it, called me excitedly and said I want to be on your panel to talk about the book, because I read it and it was "delicious." That's her description of any book that she really likes. And I couldn't agree with her more. Homecourt Advantage also shed some light on what it's like to be an athlete or entertainer's wife. I think most of us unfairly label even the wives as groupies. Homecourt Advantage proves that's absolutely not true. They were women who had it going on, just like their men. Independent and strong. I would love to have Rita or Crystal talk to our panel and also hear what they think about the book. Nevertheless, Thanks Crystal and Rita for putting together a fun, sensitive, informative and entertaining novel.
Excellent

I very rarely find a book I can read cover to cover. I couldn't put this one down. Very good story and it seemed like it was real when I was reading it.
This book was awesome!

I read this book in 24 hours! I enjoyed reading the "inside" information on the lives of NBA wives, significant others, etc. I have often wondered how that lifestyle is. It can be a price to pay depending on the professional athlete you're involved with. The characters were very real; I cried for some of the women who went through the pains and laughed at Kelly when she met with Mrs. Coach! The book took me through such a range of real emotions. I admire Ms. Ewing and Ms. McCrary for sharing their experiences with the world and for their strength to love their "men." I'm looking forward to seeing them in a book signing and seeing this book produced as a movie.
GET THIS BOOK, IT IS EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!

When a book brings tears to my eyes at the end of it, that is a darn good BOOK!!!! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Hats off to Rita Ewing and Crystal McCrary for painting such an intricate picture of what goes on behind the scenes in professional sports. What I liked most about it is the support of the female characters. If ever a book described the importance of Black Women sticking together to make this a better world, this book did it. Just reading about how these women supported one another and overcame the demons in their lives, gave me sooo much hope and pride as a Young Black Woman myself. No matter what we go through, there is always a SISTAH that has been there and done that whether old or young, and can help us iron out the rough spots in our lives. It is in our heritage and our tradition. Let us not forget that we are here for one another!! Living as a SBF in Atlanta who happens to love sports, I occasionally see professional players of Atlanta teams out and about. I've met a few of them. And I too see some of the things that Rita and Crystal described as the countless number of temptations that are out there for those players whether they're married or not. I see that it takes a strong, very strong grounded woman to love and support a professional athlete. It puts so many things in perspective!!! Thanks Rita and Crystal for OPENING MY EYES!!!!
