This is without a doubt one of the best books (and I've read them all) on communication and persuasion that I have read in years. And although I've made it mandatory reading for every member of my sales force, with outstanding results by the way, the concepts presented by the author can be applied by anyone in social, business, or personal situations with equal results.Unlike some of the "motivational" books which continue to tout concepts developed 50 years ago, this book actually trashes some of those ideas, shows good reason why they no longer apply to contemporary society, and instead gives bright new approaches backed by scientific study of methods that DO work in just about any persuasion situation.Most important, the author presents it in such an easy-to-read format that I was glued to it from start to finish. And it wasn't until the end that I realized I had to go back and highlight the information to see just how much substance was really there.In short, I'd recommend it highly to anyone regardless of their profession or station in life.
