I grew up in Tahlequah Ok and am Cherokee. I had the wonderful honor of growing up with these wonderful traditional stories and got to see Gayle perform her storytelling in person. I also got to grow up around beautiful artwork of the Late but wonderfully talented Merv Jacobs. His murals gave my little town a soul. I have all of his books that he made with his wife Deborah and now I'm super excited to have the opportunity to give to my kids the books that opened my eyes to my culture so long ago.

I'm glad I was able to find this one for my son for Christmas, as others in the series are out of print now.
