An all-new title in the dynamic What's the Big Idea? series. 22 full-color, full-page spreads convey the power and strength of the most ordinary things in a unique and amazing way. Did you know that... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Did you know that if spider silk was as thick as a pencil, a spider web could stop a Boeing 747 in mid-flight? I didn't know this amazing fact until I read this book. This book describes the strongest animals, objects, and events on earth. Each 2-page spread is focused on one of these objects, with the left page being a large colorful picture and the information provided in a column on the right-hand side. I think this set-up makes the book very easy to read for younger children. Since each page is focused on a different object, this is a great book for children to pick up and read little by little. Children will be amazed by the facts in this book!

My 6 year old grandson loves this book and also How Big Is It by the same author. The pictures are very clear and the text relates strength (or size) to things a bright child would know about.

This is an utterly fabulous, totally cool, massively funny, engaging, interesting and marvelous book-- ALL my sons love it, especially my eleven year old! But the older boys enjoy it a huge amount. It's always out, always in the living room or den being showed to some visitor or playmate who comes over. "Hey," they say," you have to see this book!" There are great pictures, and the text is informative and well written. I understand it's one of a series of books by this author, and we plan to get the whole set!
