I bought the book because I saw it was written by the same author as my textbook for intro to philosophy class. It's great! Almost all the advice in the book can be more broadly applied to any academic activity. Chapters on reading, writing are especially useful to students of history, english, sociology as well as philosophy. Highly recommended!!!
Good Book

I find this book to be very helpful. I was recommend this book by my Philosophy professor. It was like the last two weeks of the semester. If he recommended me this book at the beginning of the semester then I probably would have done alot better in the class. Instead, I failed Philosophy because he recommended me this book very late. It was so late, it was too late. I read and look through the book now. I say for those who are taking Philosophy, you should read this book.
Many teachers require this book. It is terrific.

My teacher made us read this book. Without it, I would have been lost. With it - I have decided to become a philosophy major. Several professors at CAL have recommended it.
