I've only been painting a couple of years, but I've amassed quite the reference library (surely No One can identify with that!). I found the book very informative and helpful. In more than one area, the author states the individual painter's need to "see" and paint what he "sees." If you're looking for formulas, this is not the book for you. If you're looking for guidance that is more geared toward integrating the appropriate trees, flowers, and foliage elements in your painting, then this is the perfect book for you. This is precisely what I was looking for and very pleased to find. Another point: Unlike almost all Northlight books, this one does not have the first (wasted) 20 pages of general brushes, materials, etc. Overall, exceptionally pleased.
Very Informative

I find that this book contains a lot of basic useful information.Though I have been painting for some time it serves as a good way to review the basics. The art shown will give you ideas for your own work. All in all a very good book for this type of subject matter.
