Book Overview

Humanly Speaking will help you stand for life by bringing clarity to the role of Christians in an abortion-supportive culture and by unmasking the destructive thinking that has effectively created two classes of human beings within the Church; those we value and protect, and those we regard as unworthy of our gospel influence and ignore.

Randy Alcorn and Stephanie Anderson, authors of Pro-Choice or Pro-Life?, write, "Humanly Speaking presents a compelling case for the humanity and dignity of the unborn and calls the church to respond accordingly."

Michael Spencer is the president of Project LifeVoice, a gospel-driven ministry that equips and inspires pro-life ambassadors to speak compellingly and to act sacrificially on behalf of the unborn. Michael served as a pastor for 23 years. He is a much sought-after speaker, addressing thousands of students and adults each year at banquets, in churches and conference settings, and on high school and university campuses.

Excellent defense of the unborn and call to action

Humanly Speaking is a wonderful defense of the pro-life position and, perhaps more importantly, a convicting call to action for the Church. Spencer's strength is communicating in a way that is easy to understand. Early on, he gives a scientific case for human life beginning at conception and discusses why humans are valuable. However, the part that separates this book is the call to action. Spencer makes a compelling call to shake both pastors and laity from apathy. His experience as a pastor shines through in practical examples and easily understood and relatable stories. Overall, this book is an excellent addition to any church's library or pro-lifer's bookshelf.
