If you are lucky you know someone like the elderly lady in this book. Whenever she sees you--coming home from school, trick-or-treating at Halloween, or walking with your dog in the wood--she makes you feel special. She is someone you admire. She is someone you love.
Have you ever had a neighbor who treated you well? If so, you should read I Know a Lady by Charlotte Zolowtow. In this book, the lady shows kindness to the kids like when she gives them flowers and on Christmas she asks them to come see her Christmas tree. There was an old lady and two kids. The old lady loved the kids so much. "She works in her garden and gives them daffodils in the spring and zinnias in the summer and chrysanthemums in the fall red holly berries when snow falls.'' Over time the little girl realizes how she feels about the old lady. I like the part when they go to her to see her Christmas tree. Also, I love the way she is so nice to the kids because she picks flowers. In my opinion the old lady is nice because she makes cakes. This reminds me of my neighbor because also she gives me flowers and says hi to me on my way to school and on Easter she makes cakes for me.
