Great childrens author

Rain Song and Snow Dance are works of absolute genius, so I bought the rest of her books. This one's a bit derivative and the writing feels clumsy in places, but very pretty and emotive. The sentiment is right on. My 2yr-old son loves it, and that's the most important thing. If you like this one, check out Margaret Wise Brown's Runaway Bunny, Lisa McCourt's I Love You Stinky Face, and Heather Patricia Ward's I promise I'll find you.

Despite the fact that my daughter is 13 and well past the recommended age group for reading this book, I couldn't resist adding this heartwarming book to our library. It is a testament to the unconditional love that a mother has for a child. It is a book to last through generations.

As a mother of 5 children I appreciated the perfect love this mother had for her child. No matter in what condition the mother found herself she still looked after her precious child. The author has a perfect understanding of what it means to be a mother.
