II Timothy: Co-Parenting In Faith: A Manifesto for Noncustodial Parents

As the title suggests, II Timothy: Co-Parenting In Faith, is a manifesto for noncustodial parents to guide them towards a faith-based perspective on parenthood and inter-personal relationships in co-parenting. The title relates to the biblical verse in II Timothy 2:5. The book draws on the empirical reasoning of the author but more importantly, on the word of God and what God expects of us, as well as what parents should expect of themselves to become the best parent they can become. The book focuses on the art of cooperative parenting, the critical forward-thinking importance of the education of the child so they will be competitive in tomorrow's global society, challenging social stereotypes and being responsive to financial responsibilities, all with the under-current of faith in knowing from where and from whom our grace, our power, and the authority comes that gives us confidence in knowing that noncustodial parents must become a pivotal force in the lives and the future of their children. The book introduces the concept of recalibrating our MPS/Moral Positioning System to being morally strong, morally committed and morally passionate about meeting the challenges of noncustodial parenthood.The issue of noncustodial parenting is a concern of everyone associated with a child. This is not just a book. It is a manifesto. It is a mandate on cooperative parenting and moving our lives forward in faith, by which they can be guided by their relationship with God. It should pique the interest of women because, for the most part, women are custodial parents who have daily contact with the child and are faced with the awesome responsibility of managing that child's life. Knowing that there is this manifesto for them to understand the nuances of noncustodial parenthood will be of tremendous to them. While support communities such as the church, schools, and civic and social organizations do not have that same level of responsibility, they may share interest in the child's development, and knowing this manifesto exists gives them another resource for professional counseling and dialogue.
