Best Bible for Kids

In the Christian book market there are so many options when it comes to Bibles, especially Bible for kids. This book has the main thing a Children's Bible needs--stories that sound great when they are read. The stories are accurate and they do not preach or explain the moral. Parents can do that the way they choose to. The pictures are rich and colorful, but realistic. My pet peeve is when kids books show Noah's ark with giraffe heads sticking out. They accurately show a huge box-like vessel. There are also lots of extras, from photographs from the Bible lands to explanations of the tabernacle, extra maps and even a page devoted to the patriarchs. (We talk about the patriarchs, but rarely define or explain them for children.) In addition, there is a CD with about twenty of the most popular stories read aloud. (May not be available in all editions.)

Great childrens bible! I highly recommend it. Makes the stories understandable without losing depth of meaning.
A good old testament bible story book for Christian families

First off, there is nothing distinctively Jewish about this bookexcept 1) a six-pointed star on the cover and 2) a foreword by a Rabbi. However, in looking for bible story books for my child, it is thebest collection of Old Testament bible stories that I have comeacross. The stories stick close to the actual bible stories with little interpretation or fictionalizing. And the photos showing the landscapes and archaological finds are nice. ...
"Religion" Aside - Wonderful Introduction to the Bible

I have really enjoyed this book with my children. I am Jewish, and my wife is Christian. My children are being raised Christian, but are being informed about Dad's religion. This book is a great introduction to the classic Bible stories. Each story is wonderfully illustrated and abridged to two pages. Putting the "religion" issue aside, as discussed by other posters, I highly recommend the book for its content.
