A collection for young fans of scary thrillers presents five spine-tingling tales in which nothing is as it seems and readers are warned about looking over their shoulders. By the author of Blitzcat... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Intriguing short stories in the vein of Roald Dahl and Shirley Jackson. Perceptive, thoughtful, darkly wry, interesting but subtle twists. Only five stories, and I liked all of them: "In Camera," "Beelzebub," "Blind Bill," Charlie Ferber" and "Henry Marlborough." The endings aren't wildly satisfying but here the underplaying seems apt. I'm surprised I'd never heard of the author before -- I was reading a Mark Twain short story collection at the same time, and contrary to all expectations I liked Westall's much more.
