If you're planning to travel through Europe by rail, this book beats all the others hands down. What I found to be most useful is that this book recommends a lot of routes that you can take through several countries--something that is missing in a lot of other travel books. If you're going to travel through Europe by rail, or if you are going to get a Eurail Pass, then you definitely need to pick this up to plan your route. The only weak point of this book is that it is thin on hotel recommendations. However, hotels can be easily found on the internet, so I don't think that is such a big weakness. Also, there are only a few restaurants that are mentioned, but again, you can get recommendations from the hotel or from locals while you're traveling. Go ahead and grab this book for your trip planning.
