excellent book for the serious e-commerce developer
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 24 years ago
This book explains alot of the inner workings and details for developing e-commerce with microsoft products. I loved the asp section and the section on building a web server. my only complaint is to update the book and maybe expand it for win2k.
Great Book - bad reviews
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 25 years ago
At my firm, a very recognized eCommerce company, Mr. Sorensen's book has been widely read by our serious technologists. It's an advanced book, and is intended for advanced developers working on major projects - not beginning 'webmasters'... I'm amazed by the clearly hostile review above. It does not correlate to our experiences. If you're an advanced developer in the Microsoft platform, or want to be, this is a very good book.
Excellent book for C++ programmers.

If you are a C++ programmer, this book definitely belongs on your shelf. It is certainly not light reading but is a must for the serious software engineer building internet systems for Microsoft Windows servers. You'll find yourself going back to this book for many years to come.

I've had the privilege of hearing Mr. Sorensen speak at many technology industry events, and have always been impressed with his deep grasp on technical subjects and his ability to communicate succuinctly and effectively. I'm happy to report that his book bodes just as well and provides a wealth of valuable information.
