I would recommend this book to anyone who will spend a few days in Bangkok. It will encourage the reader to get an idea and to focus on a particular place to visit by flipping thru the vivid photos and accompanying concise text. When I went to Bangkok last year, I had only four days. I had to plan my days by the areas I wanted to visit and narrow my interests. Since I was not familiar with Thailand and its' culture, Insight Guide Bangkok, was great in helping me focus my trip. I even had a chance to take a day trip outside Bangkok (as recommended by the book) to the Northern ancient city of Ayuttaya and a day trip to a remote island South of Bangkok. My vacation to Bangkok turned out to be a memorial experience dispite the lack of time. The travel tips in the back of the book (marked in yellow pages) are lists of basic information at your finger "tips".
