It was so scary. I couldn't put it down! My favorite koontz book.
Reminds me of a slasher film

In the best way, this reminds me of a slasher film from the 80s or 90s. It's got action, it's got dobermans, it's got a psycho haunting an unlikely hero. Koontz is very descriptive, and maybe even a little excessively so. This is a good fun read.
Read it all in 1 setting!

So far my favorite

This is the most intense book I ever read. I was on the edge of my seat and could not put it down. Up all night and heart beating fast! Definitely read it! I’m going to read it again, two years later.
One of my favorite Koontz books
Published by Sam.TheGirl , 2 years ago
One summer, back in the previous century, I was destined to spend my summer job like this: "hurry up. wait. hurry up. wait. hurry up. wait." And it was this summer that I discovered Dean Koontz. During that summer, among other reads, I read a dozen or more of his books. But this is the one that retains in my mind, the "keeper" so to speak. For one thing, I learned new words. (example: "synesthesia" --- and - no better example than in this book) Then, some of the methods in which good prevailed when evil and darkness seemed to be overwhelming were just "feel good" moments that never left me. Well played, Mr. Koontz, well played. I want to visit that forest, I do! (Sometimes I even imagine that my own patch of forest -- my home, is such a place.) So, all over the place you'll find plot lines and maybe a synopsis or two. I'll just say that 20+ years after a summer of reading a cornucopia of books, this is the one that holds a place in my memory and my heart. Thumbs up for that! Thank you!
Great Book!

I LOVED this book. Dean Koontz is a phenomenal story teller, but he does get a bit wordy.
Very entertaining

Intensity" is the perfect title for this book. The plot and characters keep you interested and involved throughout, in an on-the-edge-of-your-seat thriller way. You will not be able to put the book down!

Loved it
Too dark, too evil

Koontz is a good writer, but this book is too dark. I only read about 1/4 of it and put it aside. Do not recommend.
Not a fan

I don’t know why but I just couldn’t get into this book. The descriptions of things were way too long, too drawn out & just frankly too much. The main character annoyed me & I gave up on this book. Definitely not my cup of tea
Oh man.

Kept me coming back with the intensity. Read this fresh out of Marine Corp book camp back in 1996. Still have it. Still remember it.
One of Koontzs' BEST!

I'm a long time reader, since childhood, I've read many many books. Many of Koontzs. This is the only book I have ever read in one day. Ironically, finished it in 24 hours. It's been years since I've read it and it still holds the record for my fastest read. Highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed. I think it's time for a new copy and a re-read. Maybe this time through, I'll remember to breathe, and sleep, and eat...well..maybe..it IS INTENSITY after all..
Supreme intensity

It's a rush: a novel set within a 24 hour time span, revolving around one character as she battles one of the most insidious villains in literature.Chyna Shepherd is visiting her friend Laura's house. She like's Laura's family; it makes her wish she had one like it. Nice parents, a loving brother...it's gonna be a nice visit. Then someone else shows up. His name: Edgler Foreman Vess. He is not psychotic; he is beyond that. From the letters of his name, he spells: GOD FEARS ME. As well He should.Hiding in the shadows, Chyna watches as Laura's family is murdered. Then, in a daring attempt at escaping the hell house, she finds herself aboard Vess's trailer...and on a ride that will take her to places (both physical and mental) that she never thought she'd be.INTENSITY is the thrill-ride of thrill-rides. Dean Koontz proves that he is, after all, the Master of Suspense, as he weaves a tale that will keep you riveted to the edge of your seat. Dean Koontz is driving down the road of mastery; you better hold on.
