Refreshingly interesting

Dr. Baran has an amazing ability to draw a student reader into his text. On the surface each page looks like any other text book would. But the subject matter is refreshingly honest, and insightful. Intro to Mass Com Literacy teaches the reader that while we are all our eyes are exposed to the media every second of our lives, there is so much more happening, right underneath our nose. Intro to Mass com covers the origins of media literacy, and stretches into it's newest home, the Internet, while keeping the reader focused on topical subjects relative to America media. As far as text books go, you will look forward to reading Introduction to Mass Com 2001.
Become Media Literate

This is a great text about understanding media in all its forms. The reading was little complicated but when Dr. Baran explained what it all meant, I became more involved in media ranging from print to the internet. If you want to understand the media and how business, such as advertising, uses this it's a real eye opener. Read this book! It'll make you think about how our world is working right now.
