Rumiko Takahashi's epic in a large prestige format including bonus color pages! Kagome is an ordinary modern schoolgirl living an ordinary life. Who would have thought the dried-up old well on the site of her family's shrine would be a gateway to Japan's ancient past? Drawn through the gate against her will, Kagome finds herself battling demons for control of what she thought was a worthless trinket but is actually a powerful magical gem, the Shikon Jewel! Together with an unlikely ally, the half demon Inuyasha, Kagome begins a quest to recover the shards of the Shikon Jewel and learn more about her link to the past. Shifting Alliances Naraku steals the sacred stone of the "living mountain" demon Gakusanjin. Then, thieves have their eye on the gift Gakusanjin gives Inuyasha to help him and his friends retrieve the stone! Old and new enemies--all a manifestation of Naraku or each other--rear their ugly heads: Hakudoshi, Moryomaru, Goryomaru, Kagura, Kanna, and the Infant who houses Naraku's heart. Now they're not only attacking our friends, but each other... Who will come out on top?! And how will the changes in allegiances affect our heroes? On the personal front, Inuyasha travels to the future and meets Kagome's classmates, Shippo pulls malicious pranks on his friends, and Sango is wildly jealous when Miroku visits--his fiancée ?!
You know I love Inuyasha; the story, the characters, the animation. It has everything you want in a great story. If you liked the TV show then you should buy this. First I couldn't believe they didn't finish it in anime and now the ending isn't even available in manga in the US, I already sent a letter to Viz and they never got back to me about it. Maybe if enough people start demanding it, they might actually give us what we want.
interesting note about this particular book

interesting note about this particular book this version ISBN 1-59116-202-5 is in color and read backwards from standard American books -( book opens from the left ) also the plates and translation are different from an earlier (1998 verses this 2001) version I have. both came from the same publisher though, VIZ. I thought this was important and note worthy. also of interest is the written sound affects, they are not in English but there is a translation cell by cell in the book. I think this book is a very cool addition to my budding Inu-Yasha collection.
Awesome series

This series is way cool. Chaacters are realistic, funny, and likeable. Color is vibrant, plot has great flow and depth. It really keeps you goin. I totally know that anyone would love this series (The action scenes are really cool, too!) Sorry, but I really don't feel like going into all the details. But you'd love this, no doubt.
The perfect book for any Inu-Yasha fan!!

When I first saw the TV show, Inu-Yasha, I fell in love with it immediately. Unfortunatly, I wanted to own all the episodes for myself and my family doesn't have much money to buy all the videos. So I went to Borders and bought this first book! I loved it because it went exactly by the TV series and was amusing each time I read it. I can't wait till I raise enough money to get the second book. I hope that someday I will get all the books... atleast for the first season. The books will also last longer than the movies, and easier to handle. I really recommend to any Inu-Yasha fan to own atleast the first book in these series!
Inu-Yasha Uncovered in Ani-Manga Form.
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 20 years ago
You know, I've seen and heard about some Japanese Anime shows that are being put in Ani-Manga form, but I've never seen that kind of format would be as good as in Inu-Yasha. Of course, if you like to see anime in still motion, you're welcome to try it. The colour is so good, and the art is so superb! Of course, the drawback is that some screencaps are omitted or altered for the book format, but I wouldn't be much worried about it anyway. All in all, this is a great way to start knowing about Inu-yasha, and nothing does it better than VIZ themselves. Overall, I'll give this title a 5 stars (AKA An A+) for its outstanding performance and animation arts. So, I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do. Thanks, bye!
