Victor Von Doom has mastered science and magic alike - but when even his brilliance isn't enough, can Iron Man face those same forces? Marvel's most technological titan learns the command of... This description may be from another edition of this product.
David Michelinie and Bob Layton are responsible for the two of the most important and excellent runs in Iron Man's long history. Both of those runs contained a run in with Dr. Doom and the fate of King Aurthur's Camelot (Now collected in "Doomquest"). Like a dream come true for 80's Iron Man fanatics the two team up with penciller Ron Lim to write the final chapter and complete a Dr. Doom trilogy. The comic is framed as a flashback to the 80's style Iron Man from Michelinie/Layton's second run and it's really like sitting down with an old friend again. The writing is classic and entertaining and it's a good break from today's more serious Iron Man stories. The fun ends a little too quickly perhaps and the final chapter is a bit weak but all in all Legacy of Doom is an action packed old-school adventure and a true labor of love for Shell-head's more prolific writers.
Great follow-up to Doomquest.

If you've enjoyed the classic Iron Man story "Doomquest" then Legacy of Doom will be very pleasing to you. Set up as a flashback, 80s-era Iron Man once again faces up against the only villain who rivals Stark in both intelligence and technological power. Complete with a trip to Hell and magic that would not be out of place in a Lovecraft story, Legacy of Doom is a very satisfying read.
