We have had a computer in the house for at least 10 years, I have never touched it!! A friend gave me this book for my birthday, and now I am using the computer, I was never able to understand when I was told how to use it, Abby's book made it easy for me to get around the computer, and learn without feeling stupid, I now can keep in touch with a grandaughter in the Air Force, as well as friends and other family members. Also the illistrations were fun! again Abby takes the fear out of the computer

I have been playing around with my computer for a while, not really not knowing too much. Just playing games!! Now I can surf with the best of them! I now can keep up with my Grandchildren, who always knew more than me! I have bought many computer books that couldn't understand. I was even more comfused after trying to read them. They just sat on a shelf. NOW THIS IS A BOOK I UNDERSTAND!! Again thank you Ms Stokes !

...for bringing light and joy to those who just haven't been comfortable with computers. Abby helps potential surfers, intimidated by the prospect of learning a new language and finding their way around a new machine, to overcome their fears and appreciate all the great things that they can accomplish with this cool tool. She offers practical guidance to novices, and clearly and methodically illuminates the paths to communicating on the World Wide Web. And Abby is such a sweetheart: she never condescends or loses her temper. Do you know someone who's struggling to get up-and-running on the computer? This is the book for them.

At last someone came out with a book that explains the basics of computer usage and Internet navagation that I need. Stokes beautifully explains it all without either dumbing it down or talking over your head; and does it with humor and patience. In the 20th century I traveled the world by boat and plane taking in the sights and sounds of all it has to offer. In the 21st century the world comes to me through my computer thanks to the internet with help from "guide books" like this one. Bravo Abby Stokes
