Using clever cutaway views, architectural diagrams and bird's-eye and worm's eye views, this is the retelling of the magical story of the young lad who sold the family cow for a few beans. The beans grew into a mighty plant that reached as high as the sky.
When my husband and I first got this book we thought it was a little scary. I checked out 4 Jack and the Beanstalk books out from the library. This was the only one my daughter wanted. She loved the story but mostly the pictures. She liked looking for Jack in the detailed pictures. When we had to return it to the library we decided to buy it! Depending on the child, the retold Albert Lorenz book is great.
Gotta have it!

We too checked this book out of the library and then just had to buy it! The book is huge, the pictures and gorgeous and very detailed. The descriptions of just exactly how Jack manages to get that huge bag of gold, golden-egg laying hen, and magical harp out of the castle and to the beanstalk are intriguing. My six year old and two year old both love this book. They sit and read it together and then can usually be found acting out the story in their bedroom. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone! Also would be good for schools because the pictures are so big.
wonderful book

We took this book out of the library, but now we have to own it. It is such a fun book!!! The illustrations are just wonderful and invite to look and look at the pages again. The story is well known, and Jack is very inventive to solve his problems.
