I really wanted to like this book. Not only was the cover photo intriguing but the synopsis seemed right up my alley. In the end it all came down to the lack of editing. I found myself reading back awkward sentence and cringing at poor writing techniques so often it was hard to enjoy the plot. At one point, a character completely flipped personalities with no explanation whatsoever! I'm not surprised this book has good reviews, as I tend to be highly critical of writing style, and indeed I do think a younger audience might enjoy this. That said, I just wasn't impressed. There is a part of me that is curious about some of the unanswered questions at the end of the book, but it's doubtful it'll be enough for me to read the whole series.
