It's cool. More information had been covered but not in detail. When I scared about java, Java Unleashed made me to cool. I can say "Java Unleashed is my Bible" because I had been undergone my project work by this Bible only.

First I would like to say that this book is a great book and that it will teach you just about everything you would want to know about java, But... If you are a begginer I DO NOT suggest this book. It is a little advanced and even for me (intermediate) it is still some what confusing. If you know some of the laungauge then this book is a must.

This book is aimed at the programmers who are already familiar with the object oriented paradigm. Each chapter presents one aspect of Java is a clear and easy to read manner. There are many examples given which help to visualise the "look and feel" of a Java program. All aspects of Java are covered. The book also serves at a good reference guide once you have an understanding of the language. Note that this book is not for the beginner, nor for people who have not been exposed to the object oriented paradigm.
The JAVA Bible, if you will.

Like the name implies (unleashed), JAVA is the new untamed beast of the Internet. An animal that needs to run wild to be fully understood, and this book handles the hefty job like a seasoned trained ringmaster. To the novice the title can seem quite daunting, one might think the inevitable destiny would be of an expensive door stop("Boy that sure is a lot of pages there"). Not so, this is a perfect book for beginners because it gets them right into the role of "Beastmaster", and understanding this thing called JAVA is a snap. For the more advanced this a great reference tool, it gets into the JAVA language as a whole and explains the concepts beyond the Internet and applet programing. As JAVA evolves, so do the concepts, but JAVA UNLEASHED will not outdate. Everyone should have this on their shelf
Good

I use this book fairly often. I originally bought it to learn Java and it is a good book to learn from. However, although the book does go into "packages" and "importing", it doesn't give any examples of how to use packages in different files, and how to pass information between them. It took me quite a while to figure that out on my own
