This book worked for me!

This is the only book I used to prepare for my Sun Certified Java 2 Programmer Exam, which I passed on the first try. I supplemented my learning with a few web sites, but the bulk of my research came from this (relatively) inexpensive book.As a programmer with no C or C++ experience, I can safely say that this book did not require that knowledge.I didn't notice the typos that others have talked about, and could compile all of the examples in the book (save a very long GUI example that tried my patience at 3am one night).Compared to the books/publishers I have used in pursuit of Visual Basic certifications, this book is very clear and a pleasure to read.I will continue to hold on to this book as a valuable reference for years to come.
Quite an effective guide for the Architect exam

I used this guide to prepare for the Java Architect exam. My experience with it has been very positive culminating in my passing the exam after 3 weekends of studying the material presented in the book.
Great Book and CD, a wealth of practice questions

I like the fact that this book provides alot of practice questions and the test engine on the CD is really good. I got this book after I had been studying for about a month for the programmer's exam. I used it as a final review. It helped me find out areas I needed to study more. I also found it covered things that I had neglected before (like the FontMetrics class). Finaly, I like the fact that the book is nicely bound.
Excellent book for all 3 java exams.

Before u read this book u must have read 2 or more books on java and 2 or more books object oriented design and have at least 6+ months experience with java and 1 yr + with Object oriented programming. The only main weakness is that the book is too short. This is great for college students like me, or for professional programmers. This book is not for new programmers! it is for intermediate and advanced only.
