Use discernment when reading this

I am sure this book has done good things for many people in their walk with God. However, as I was reading it, I felt unsettled. These are not the words of Jesus. These are the words of Sarah Young, and we have to be very careful and discerning when reading this daily. Yes, much of what is written is based on Jesus's character, but these are not His own words. There is no substitute for the Bible. It may be a daily encouragement, but if you are looking for a daily challenge and word from God, this is not exactly a tool for that.

If you have no direction, this book gives you directions and it does so in the direction towards Jesus. This book also encourages you to read your Bible. Each page contains a beautifully written message with corresponding scriptures that heightens your understanding of obtaining the abundant peace of Christ. While reading this book everyday, alongside your Bible, you’ll develop a pursuit to enable Jesus’ peace in your life which can radiate to others (which does tend to happen when you harbor The Holy Spirit). Bottom line, if you’ve been on the search for a devotional that’s life changing and connects you closer to Jesus, look no more!!

This book is amazing! It will change anyone's life that reads it daily. I buy extra copies just to give away. It's written so that it's easily understandable. It gives insight into living an abundant life by anyone's standards. It's been extremely helpful to me in my quest to live a life closer to Jesus. We read it daily as a family along with the book Jesus Always. also a daily devotional. When we have forgotten for a few days, it leaves us craving the closeness we had with Jesus. We ALWAYS feel better after reading this very special book! It starts your day with a positive attitude no matter what your day brings, the good and the bad. We will read it at any time of day we remember. My son said he didn't want to read it in a year and use it up! Each year you read it, you get a different insight into what you are experiencing daily at that time. This is a 5-star book you'll be glad you've found. It is a true blessing to all!

Wonderfully finished the leather like exterior cover felt wonderful in your hands and the written out scriptures made it so much easier and more intimate and having to look them up yourself in another book. I would gladly recommend this edition to anyone.

This book is so awsome. Seen a friend reading and order one. When I tell you this book was for me. I got it late in the year 2020 so I was worried about catching up. I start from the beginning and it was like I never missed a day. Everything was so timely and clear. This book carried me through the rest of the year. The author Omg I just want to give her the biggest hug. I love this lady. Thanking God for her obedience.

The women in my Bible Study all read this book daily.Many times we discuss the daily reading at a meeting or we text one another on a day one of us found the daily reading speaking particularly to her. The readings are a “jumping off” place for us on MANY days.

In my opinion this is one of the best devotional books. For myself, and so many others I’ve spoke with regarding this book, we all feel like each day is just speaking straight to us even though we’re all going through different things in life. It’s so relatable each and every day. Also I love that each page is a day in this book. Such an amazing purchase! If you’re debating, purchase it, you won’t regret it.

I started reading this devotional from a co worker who passed it on to me. I loved it so much. I bought several copies, one for myself and several to pass out. I returned my co workers book so she could share it with another. Day by day God speaks to me and guides me with different insights into His loving presence.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a devotional that speaks to your 💓.

I have had this book for years and have read it every day.... although I know these are not the words of Jesus, except the quotations, I picture Him saying them. Sara has done a great job putting this book together.

While I believe that Ms. Young walks with God, it is uncomfortable that she has phrased her interpretations of God's words as though she is speaking for him. That being said, I also believe that this book has had a positive influence on many people. I would suggest that readers would do well to remember that they are reading one person's interpretation of what God feels---and that Ms. Young is merely serving as guide. Ultimately, each reader might do well to digest Ms. Young's INTERPRETATIONS and remember that they are being inspired by her inspiration. Read the referenced bible quotes, "dig deeper" and search within yourself for your own connection to the Holy Spirit. I prefer the Daily Guideposts devotional because the writers realize that they are writing from a human standpoint. However, I applaud the fact that many, many people have been drawn closer to God because of her book. The book may have been better titled "Jesus Called" and the cover could perhaps have shown a hand reaching out to the silhouette of Ms. Young--with Ms. Young's hand extended in offering to the reader. Had the book represented the thoughts as coming from the author, I would have awarded five stars
THE devotional book that you absolutely must have!

I absolutely love this devotion book. Sarah Young speaks from the heart and puts into words what I can not form but what I do feel. It is like "listening in a mirror." Listening, not reading. I can read the book, but listen to God's voice in my soul - where the Holy Spirit reflects (hence, mirror) that from those in whom He lives.I highly recomend this as a must have devotion.
