Book Two of Valiant Young Men-Heroes of Flight, the story of James Norman Hall. Jimmy enlisted in the British infantry when WWI broke out. Later he became a founding member of the Escadrille Lafayette, the French fighter group for American volunteers. When the U.S. officially entered the war, he was appointed a captain in the famed 94th "Hat-in-the-Ring" squadron and mentored Eddie Rickenbacker. He was shot down three times by the Germans and spent the last six months of the war as a POW in Landshut, where he led a most unusual escape. In peacetime Hall settled in Tahiti and co-authored the classic work, "Mutiny on the Bounty." All three books in the Valiant Young Men series are not only packed with incredible adventure and excitement, but are inspirational treatises on "man-making."
