by Julie Dunlap and Marybeth Lorbiecki illustrations by Bill Farnsworth Come along on a trip to Alaska! This is the true adventure story about John Muir and a 'no-good' dog named Stickeen. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book is well done ... and the illustrations are great to go along with it. I just wish more was actually quoted from "Stickeen." John Muir has done some fantastic writing. Really good book to share with a kid (or an adult who's a "kid at heart").

Beautiful illustrations. It is a simplified, but not dumbed-down, version of Muir's famous essay. Perfect for any child who has - or wants - a dog.
