Chello, other Historical & Romance Readers. This is my first written review, but again a review...not a summary. I also just came into this genre. Overall, I liked the book a lot for its fast passed plot. There were few characters, but each had a burden, intelligence, and hope. The hero (Rill) was sooo Cowboy... handsome, brave and worthy. The heroine (Juliana) was righteous, courageous, and cute. That made good chemistry, from the beginning. The secondary characters, Cassandra ( a spoiled and spunky six-year old) & Cropper (Rill's right-side) totally added to the story ,and they were the ones that drove Juliana and Rill forward. The Villians are really Villians. i also liked the time period. Western Expansion. The story played upon some of the hardships and triumphs of traveling in a covered wagon in order to find something better. i liked the writing because Ms. Skinner had a movie going on in my head the whole time. ~ Annie O'Sullivan
