JumpStart: Ideas to Move Your Mind Sometimes teens can use a little help with life skills This unique self-discovery guidebook and journal is perfect for any talented high school or early college... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Beatrice Elye has written an excellent book. Although focused on the teen ages (13 to 18 years), the book is applicable for all ages. She used many handy tips to encourage her readers to learn more about topics that interest them - authors, books, etc. She also doesn't "dumb down" the book which was very pleasant to see. Instead she encouraged the reader to have their handy dictionary nearby to find words that they might not understand. The book covers many different topics including dealing with procrastination, what is the meaning of success, etc. The author provides spaces for the reader to jot notes, make comments -- in fact it is encouraged. The author also has a reader-friendly style of writing. The book makes you stop and think and consider what you've read. But it doesn't feel like work or a chore -- rather it made me want to continue reading to see what she had to say about other topics.I highly recommend the book to readers of all ages.
