One good turn may deserve another, but what if you didn't really do anything and had no idea what it meant to the person you supposedly helped out? Lisa inadvertently does... something for a total stranger in a crowded checkout line. When she bumps into him again and realizes she's done... something else for him, she decides to steer clear of this mysterious man, even if he is handsome and appealing. Later, he appears at her workplace and then at the homeless shelter where she volunteers, but he won't (or can't) explain much about their rather confusing circumstances. Lisa has other problems on her plate. Her incompetent, bullying new boss seems intent on squeezing Lisa out of her position. Furthermore, the shelter has an influx of clients and a shortage of workers, and these last few days before Christmas are going to set record low temperatures. Plus, donations have fallen to their lowest yet. Can they even stay open beyond December 31? As she spends more time with this mysterious stranger, Lisa realizes she'd prefer David to be less of a stranger. But what is David doing in her town and why does he pop up at her company office and the shelter? And what does he mean when he says he might know somebody who's in the miracle business?
