This review refers to the CDs: I have about 6 years of junior high/high school French, so I would consider myself intermediate but by no means fluent. The CDs were great in helping me with my pronunciation and listening skills (as an Anglophone my pronunciation is horrible), and I was able to review one lesson a day during my daily car commute. I like the fact that the speakers are actual French speakers, although the background noises were indeed distracting and made it hard to hear at times. The problem with other CDs I've tried were that they repeated boring conjugations that would never stick. At least with learning from this CD if you misconjugate, the listener would at least understand what you mean. This CD was actually fun to listen to.
A real good one -- worth the money

I first borrowed Just Listen 'N Learn French from the library.I learned French quite well in just a month. I plan on buying it aswell as the advanced course soon. I LOVE how they use actual peopletalking in ACTUAL conversation so you can hear all of the grammer andtounge rolls. I like how they tell you of the French speakingcontries and their laws/ways. I think that it's defanitely worth itespecially for common travellers to East Canada, Cote D'Ivore, France,Belgum, and Switzerland.
I loved it!

I bought Just Listen 'N Learn a few months before I took my first trip to France. I spent about a half hour a day with the course, and when I arrived in France I could speak and understand French. I like the fact that the audio cassette editors recorded many different voices in many different settings. Instead of trained actors in a studio, I heard the cadence and speech patterns of real people, which was great preparation for listening to real French people in France. I would recommend the Just Listen 'N Learn series of language courses to anyone who can commit to studying about a half hour to an hour a day for several months.
I thought it was great!

I took the Just Listen N Learn course before I went to France and it was a big help. What I liked the most is that they recorded "ordiinary" voices, not trained actors in a studio setting. I got used to hearing French as spoken by natives, with a variety of accents, and the umms and errrs in normal conversation. I recommend this to anyone. It sure was a big help for me.
