This tale is finely written. It has a family quality to it. It is hard for me to find any literature that interest me that doesn't have some explicit scenes to carry a romance story. Nancy, one of the main characters, is very modest and sweet with a spitfire tendency after many years of what I suppose you could call emotional abuse from her half-sister. However, her family is still important to her, and soon a certain man is too. I couldn't put the book down once I began reading it. It is a wonderful story that you should read if you like clean romance, but it also has plenty of adventurous events that keep the pages turning. I recommend this book highly.

Written and published in WWII this vintage romantic suspense novel is set against the panorama of the world at war. The heroine Nancy Barton is an Admiral's duaghter who does her war effort by working in the Pentagon. She meets dashing officers and gentlemen both in the US Navy and handsome allied officers. Exciting, romantic- this reads like a wonderful 40s black and white movie. Fun historical novel!
