great story ... stupid ending

This was a solid five-star read -- right up until the conclusion. I had the impression that Bell's publisher was on the phone screaming, "I don't care if the last pages make no sense. Just finish the d--- thing." I was thoroughly engaged until then. My recommendation? You'll probably enjoy MOST of this otherwise well-written story.
