A compact gem of a guide packed with facts

A wonderful, compact guide to the rulers of England, Wales, Ireland, Scotland and Great Britain. While this book also includes some information on the Ancient British Kings and Queens, the Roman and Romano-British Rulers and the Anglo-Saxon monarchies, its real utility (for me) is the dynastic detail. This book is not a substitute for more detailed works for those seeking in depth knowledge. However, for those seeking an outline of a reign, or a quick reminder of the wives of Henry VIII, the pedigree of Mary Queen of Scots or the progress from Stuart to Hanoverian rulers this little gem of a book is likely to contain all of the information you seek. Highly recommended - especially to readers of historical fiction set in Britain who just want an overview of who ruled when. Jennifer Cameron-Smith
