Praying for a happy ending, friends and family stood by Laci's grieving husband Scott. Four months later, Laci's decomposed body was found in the murky waters of San Francisco Bay. The body of her... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book is well written and can be read in a day or less. It is such a tragic story but one that needs to be told. Make sure you have a box of tissues handy because you will cry when reading much of the book.
The forensic side of the investigation

It's the forensic side of the investigation. There are parts that are difficult to read; I have been reading true crime for years and the author is very descriptive. It's very interesting though. I would recommend it if you follow this crime story.
A good read .... but lacks details

This book was a little one sided, painting Scott Peterson as guilty pretty much from the get-go .... ok probably with good reason but it would have been better for the author to remain a bit more impartial!!! If you are a true crime reader like myself that likes to know all the facts, including the gruesome details so you can form your own opinion, this book really lacks in this area. I feel the author was mindfull of the familiy's suffering and therefore kept the book simple and left out vital information!?! Despite all this it is a good read, once you start you want to keep going!! I found myself really involved in the whole nightmare and I feel for Laci, Conner and her family!! My only words for Scott Peterson are karma is a b*%CH!!!!
A different perspective

Have plenty of time when you start to read this book. I read this book after reading Blood Brother, written by Scott Peterson's sister. There are definitely differences of opinion in the two books: In Blood Brother Anne Bird wrote of several instances before Laci disappeared when Jackie Peterson would speak of her and make faces, roll her eyes, etc. & did not seem to care for Laci too much. This book (Laci) seems to be written from the exact opposite point of view. Possibly the difference between being a part of the process & an outsider looking in. Both are excellent books. This is one you won't want to put down once you start.

I really enjoy reading books about real life events. This book was great. I learned new information about the case and I have followed the case closely.
