Good For A Certain Level Of Use

Like the other reviews have said, this dictionary is a little too big for your pocket but it is lightweight and portable. It has held up under repeated use (no pages are falling out). The words I want to look up are easily referenced and the definitions are clear and applicable to what I am reading. Quite honestly though I had to switch to a larger dictionary when reading a book in Italian of average or slightly greater than average reading level because I kept running into words that weren't in this dictionary. This book would be good for taking on a trip for basic to just beyond basic needs.

Since we knew nothing about the Italian language we decided to order this before our scheduled trip to Italy. It is good to have the book with us and point to the Italian word if we do not know how to pronounce it as it had the English word right next to it. A good way to travel and learn the language all at once. Thanks.

This book is very basic...but, extremely practical. The phrases that are translated are quite necessary to travel through Italy.

Although the title is somewhat misleading (this dictionary does not fit into any of my pockets), it proved very useful on a recent trip to Italy. Definitions included common phrases and colloquial expressions and both British and US usage. Handy items included conversion charts, phrases, and other helpful information for getting around in a foreign country. In the back is a list of all the irregular Italian verbs with conjugations and those pesky past participles.
