I really enjoyed this book. Easy reading about a family in the North Carolina Mountains, mostly set in Ashville. I look forward to reading more of Mr. Ehle's works

I've given this book several times to people who enjoy a good story mixed with accurate historical research, particularly in the Western NC area. It portrays Asheville & it's development with characters several generations removed from some of Ehle's earlier novels. It conveys a sense of "roots" and ambition. It's just good reading.
