#1 bestselling author Stephen King returns with a brand-new novel about the secrets we keep buried and the cost of unearthing them.SOMETIMES GROWING UP MEANS FACING YOUR DEMONS The son of a struggling single mother, Jamie Conklin just wants an ordinary childhood. But Jamie is no ordinary child. Born with an unnatural ability his mom urges him to keep secret, Jamie can see what no one else can see and learn what no one else can learn. But the cost of using this ability is higher than Jamie can imagine - as he discovers when an NYPD detective draws him into the pursuit of a killer who has threatened to strike from beyond the grave. LATER is Stephen King at his finest, a terrifying and touching story of innocence lost and the trials that test our sense of right and wrong. With echoes of King's classic novel It, LATER is a powerful, haunting, unforgettable exploration of what it takes to stand up to evil in all the faces it wears.
Oh I enjoyed a good yarn. Which is my own criteria for a great book. And I found this yarn interesting to the last page. I just love you, Stevie King!

This was a familiar premise and King acknowledged this but of course it has the King touch.

Captivating characters and a shorter read. You never know what you are going to get from Stephen King's mind. Recommended for fans old and new!
Solid story telling

I enjoyed this book more than I expected. Solid story, interesting characters, good spooky horror that hearkens back to King's earlier work and short story/novella formats.
Wasn’t sure what to expect, but thoroughly entertaining read!

I’ve never read a “hard case crime” novel before. But I like Stephen King’s work as do most so I figured I’d check it out. The book starts out a bit odd for my taste, King writing as a 4 year old boy is kind of unsettling. But as he gets older the writing itself begins to come together a bit more. The book is about Jamie retelling this story from his child hood and even mentions at the end that his writing improved as he went. All that aside I really enjoyed the book. There were even some parts of it that paid homage to “It” which I thought was really cool. And the twist at the end was Stephen King at his finest. I hope this isn’t the last time we hear from Jamie!
