It's a great book for reference, not just for the American or Canadian physician, but also for European pharmacists and physicians. The only problem I have found is that the format isn't good to carry it with you but you won't mind it of you use it in your desk.

This book is an excellent resource complete with comprehensive tables. It gives monitoring parameters, patient education information, doseage adjustmets for renal insufficiency, pharmakinetics, you name it, this book has it. It makes my job much easier.

This book ties together all the features needed to quickly review the appropriateness of the drug for the diagnosis. Since the regulations were promulgated by HCFA pertaining to the unnecessary drugs there has been a need for a book of this type. The Beers article has been unpopular in some settings, but as a nurse with more than thirty years of geriatric experience I find the guidelines to be right on target.
