In this passage, "news" refers to the return from exile and deliverance from sin found in Christ Jesus.The reason we are distracted from sharing the Gospel after much preparation is that we are in a spiritual battle. The devil is prowling around really upset with you because you are victoriously sharing the Good News that will set another soul free from his control.This is front-line attack. I recall being attacked by bees on a patio, children acting up for attention, TVs blaring, and phones ringing when I would get to the point of sharing the steps of salvation and obedience to God.The best response is to pray away the evil one, keep your focus, and defeat the enemy by boldly sharing. If you know this will be a point of contention, you will be prepared to tough it out through any distraction or obstacle. This battle is a sign you are right on track in presenting the words to set your seekers free.Do not give up! Keep on going. Even if circumstances seem to delay you, return to the point of presentation. Your feet must be firmly planted on the spiritual mountain top with the Holy Spirit. Do not move off course, even if it means sharing days later. Be a strong and courageous Lighthouse.
