HE USED A HAND SAW . . . On Valentine's Day 2007, in a suburb of Detroit, stay-at-home dad Stephen Grant filed a missing person's report with the local sheriff. Grant's wife Tara had disappeared five days earlier. He'd been searching for her ever since - or so he claimed. HE STARTED WITH HER HANDS . . . Over the next two weeks, police questioned Grant. He lashed out, accusing them of harassment, pleading his innocence in television interviews. He swore that his wife, a successful businesswoman, had abandoned him and their children. Then the police made a gruesome discovery . . . HE KEPT HER TORSO IN THE GARAGE. After his arrest, Grant confessed to strangling his wife and cutting her body into fourteen pieces while the children slept. Detroit News reporter George Hunter interviewed Grant several times, learning shocking details of his relationship with Tara. This chilling account goes inside the twisted mind of a husband who snapped - and a marriage that ended in bloody carnage. INCLUDES 16 PAGES OF SHOCKING PHOTOS
I started reading this book and couldn't put it down. I read a lot of true crime books and this rates among the top, with "In cold blood" and "Helter Skelter".
You wont read a better true crime novel than this one this year!

One of the best true crime books I have read in awhile. I started reading this book having some assumptions and expectations, these were quickly dispelled. The authors used a very easy to read narrative style at the beginning of the book and then built on this style as they progressed through the book. I found myself having a different opinion of the main characters in this book by the end of the story. I found myself having empathy and understanding for one of the main protagonists in this book and that surprised me. The authors journalistic and detached style (Just the facts approach to what happened) helped me come to my own conclusions about what I feel really happened, and this is what was important to me. This is a thinking persons true crime book, you will not be disappointed!
Chilling insight into grisly murder

I started this book at bedtime one night, and couldn't stop reading until I was finished. Although the back of the book lets readers know the outline of the story, the thoughtful weaving of the background tales with the aftermath of the murder kept me engaged and turning pages quickly. The book features an interesting cast of characters, and saves several crucial pieces of information for a big reveal at the end. This book is fast-paced, well-structured, and written by authors with obvious care for detail and knowledge of the setting of the crime. Although I was not previously aware of the crime I found the events more bizarre and terrifying than most detective novels. I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy crime/detective novels, non-fiction crime writing, or television crime shows like CSI. The authors do a nice job of taking readers inside the investigation to explain how the police discovered the shocking truth behind the "disappearance" of a young wife and mother. One caution, I would advise readers not to look at the photo pages in the middle of the book until they have finished reading. I felt some of the captions gave away a bit too much of the story.
