Fraleigh and Beauregard's text is known for its clear presentation and writing style, mathematical appropriateness, and overall usability. Its inclusion of calculus-related examples, true/false problems, section summaries, integrated applications, and coverage of Cn make it a superb text for the sophomore or junior-level linear algebra course. This Third Edition retains the features that have made it successful over the years, while addressing recent developments of how linear algebra is taught and learned. Key concepts are presented early on, with an emphasis on geometry. KEY TOPICS: Vectors, Matrices, and Linear Systems; Dimension, Rank, and Linear Transformations; Vector Spaces; Determinants; Eigenvalues and Eigenvectors; Orthogonality; Change of Basis; Eigenvalues: Further Applications and Computations; Complex Scalars; Solving Large Linear Systems MARKET: For all readers interested in linear algebra.

It came EXTREMELY fast. I am very happy with my purchase. It was a used book and the description was true to the word. I will definitely buy from this seller again. Thanks a lot!
Not the best for beginners, but still good

After giving up on this book when I first learned Linear Algebra,it has turned out to be a very good reference book on the subject. If you need to, use Anton's book to learn the subject, but I keep this one on my shelf.
For beginners!

For a biginner, many famous textbooks(Fridberg's or Leon's or etc.)are too diffcult and focus on high density of theory rather than caculation problems. Examples of this book help me a lot to know Linear Algebra. We could use this as our first text book of Linear Algebra. After we are familiar with Linear Algebra, we could get another textbook.
Great text for a beginner

Fraleigh/Beauregard's treatment of linear algebra provides a great foundation for learning the subject. The examples are helpful and carefully explained. Numerous exercises help the reader understand the material, however some of the proofs and exercises are a bit trivial. What the book lacks in rigor, it makes up in lucidity-- those seeking a more indepth treatment of the subject should consult Hoffman/Kunze. The text is extremely readable from cover to cover. Overall, this is an excellent text. I recommend it to anyone studying linear algebra.
