One problem with Linux books is that they get outdated rapidly. I think that this is more resistant to that than most. Another problem is that the Linux documentation is scattered all over the Internet. This collects it in one book that you can sit down and refer to. This book is intermediate to advanced. There is no hand holding or tutorials here. For example there is 36 pages on bash (Bourne Again Shell). 734 pages on utility programs, such as bash. 153 pages on system calls - for programmers. 171 pages on library functions - for programmers, etc. The reason it is rated only 4 stars is that any such book is inherently outdated.
