BETRAYAL Joey and his stuffed animal guardians must thwart the evil schemes of the Beasties in this all-ages series. Joey and Courtney's winter wonderland is shattered when the Big Cats of the Night Pride arrive with terrible news from the Stuffed Animal Kingdom. Now all that stands between the horrible Beasties and children everywhere are Joey, Courtney, and their imaginations
"There are those who plot ... evil souls who see all the world's children left defenseless ... whenever you have prosperity, you will also have jealousy. And jealousy breeds hatred and pain. No matter how honorable our intentions, no matter how good our hearts, evil can always find a way in ..." - Pallo
Though all the Stuffed Animals Militia characters are cool on their own rite, it's hard not to find a favorite with Courtney's butt-kicking teddy bear, Orson, nor in Joey's savage white tiger, Ares. The addition of the Russian-like polar bear guard is a neat, and lion Pallo's quotable words of wisdom and encouragement are potent. Mike Bullock's story is a good adventure read for my kids (and myself). Good art for the content by Jack Lawrence (Issues 1 and 2) and by Paul Gutierrez and Bob Pedroza (Issues 3 and 4).
"In our darkest moments, if we abandon courage, deny our faith, gow are we to light our path?" - Pallo, again
