The thoroughly updated Eighth Edition of the top-selling NCLEX-RN review reflects the current NCLEX test plan and contains more than 5,000 total test questions-including new alternate-format questions-to help students practice taking the exam. Organized by practice area-childbearing family and neonate, child health, adult medical-surgical, and psychiatric-mental health-the book contains more questions than any other NCLEX-RN review, and includes more pharmacology-related questions. The author clearly explains the rationale for correct and incorrect answers. Five comprehensive tests resembling the format of the NCLEX-RN are also included. A back-of-book CD-ROM includes more than 1,000 questions, plus a free sample of the PDA download for handheld devices . This edition is also available for PDAs. See PDA listing for details.
I was looking for a review book with only questions and practice tests...many books have more on how to prepare for the NCLEX than actual questions for practice, but this product is exactly what I wanted. It has hundres of great questions for each subject area and 6 comprehensive tests. In addition to that, the CD-ROM includes even more practice questions!

I am happy with this book. It delivered what it promised and what I wanted - a ton of questions and answers to help me get ready for (and pass!) the NCLEX. I thought the questions were challenging and well organized, and it provided very thorough answers and rationales. It's a great choice for any nursing student!

This is a wonderful text, not only for the test but for nursing school as well. It divides up all of the subjects that we are currently studying in school and helps for the nursing exams in school as well.
Written to help you pass NCLEX the first time.

I enjoyed this book because it was written to help students understand the NCLEX-RN test. The questions are designed to test each phase of the nursing process and help the student understand the correct nursing actions to take, depending on which phase you are in. The book is broken into different clinical areas so you can concentrate on your weak area and not spend too much time on areas you are most comfortable with. I have used other books by other authors, but Lippincott's is by far the best because it is the one designed most like the NCLEX. The rationale accompanies both wrong and correct answers so you get a better understanding of the material. The test on disk is also formatted like the CAT test you will see on your testing day. This will help relieve your computer anxiety by allowing you practice before you get to the testing site. This is definitely the book to buy to study for NCLEX-RN. You won't regret purchasing this study aide.
