I bought this Literature Pockets book because my daughter's homeschool evaluator suggested it. It is great! My daughter loves reading the books and then reading about the illustrators. She also loves doing the pockets. It is a good way to learn about the book and the illustrator in more detail. The pockets are interesting and easy to follow. She wanted to do all of them the same day! We went to our local library and got a few of the books in the Literature Pockets, then she read them and studied the illustrations then did the pockets. Now she has a 3-ring binder with all her "pockets" in it. She is very proud of them!

I am homeschooling a first grader and we are so enjoying this book and making the "pockets" and filling them with projects! For each of the Caldecott winner books that you read, there is a section with art and crafty little assignments you do to add to each pocket. My 5 year old is quite proud of each new addition.
